Are you experiencing frequent or intense anxiety?

While occasional anxiety is a normal part of our everyday lives, some people frequently experience anxiety as intense or persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Others may experience anxiety as repeated episodes of sudden intense fear or terror that peak within minutes. And there are others who experience anxiety as fear and avoidance of social interactions because they may feel embarrassed, self-conscious and/or concerned about being judged negatively by others. These feelings are difficult to control, are out of proportion with the actual situation and can last a long time.

If you live with anxiety you may also experience a multitude of other symptoms such as: feeling nervous, restless or tense, have trouble concentrating, have trouble sleeping, experience gastrointestinal (GI) problems, avoid things that trigger their anxiety, have a sense of impending danger or doom, have a tightness in the chest, feel a persistent sense of tiredness. Some examples of anxiety disorders are generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder. Symptoms may start during childhood or develop adulthood. And it is possible to develop more than one anxiety disorder.

We can help you see the patterns in your thinking and replace these thoughts with more positive ones in order to help you to feel better about engaging with others in social settings.
